Dr. Jon Manning grew up in Allen, TX working on his Dad’s cattle ranch. He attended Ouachita Baptist University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Biology. While at Ouachita he was a six time NCAA all American Swimmer. After graduation he then moved back to Texas and finished his prerequisites for Vet School at Texas A&M University- Commerce. While in Commerce he was a long term employee of Dr. L.P. Gregg. Dr. Manning attended Texas A&M of Veterinary Medicine where he earned his DVM with Honors-Magna Cum Laude. When he graduated Vet School he began practice as a mixed animal practitioner in Brenham, TX. Before relocating to East Texas he was a general practitioner, But saw many emergencies as well. In his spare time he enjoys the outdoors and riding horses. He has a passion for internal medicine and surgery in both large and small animals. Beef cattle herd management and reproduction have been particular areas of interest. Dr. Manning is a proud new owner of Hunt County Animal Hospital, previously known as Gregg Animal Clinic. He is excited to serve this area and be closer to family.
